Description
The urban climate-related knowledge needs to be better understood, given the increase and variety of non-planners influencing planning and adaptation processes in cities. Theory shows that communication influences people’s perception of urban patterns such as climate. While various communication methods proved promising in the climate change communication field, I hypothesize they might also prove useful for the often ephemeral and less tangible aspects of urban climate. Perception about the urban climate might possibly be positively influenced by appropriate, particularly personal, or localised communication methods which can further result in greater public support towards climate adaptation and thus contribute to the improvement of climatic comfort in the urban environment.
