Project Details

The Netherlands is committed to contributing to international surveys and reporting to the Kyoto Protocol and the UN Framework Convention for Climate Change, but also to schemes such as Global Forest Resource Assessment (GFRA), International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO / ITTA), Forest Europe (formerly Ministerial Conference on Protection of Forests in Europe, MCPFE). For these reports data becoming available from the forest inventory are used.
In the period 2012-2013, the sixth Dutch Forest inventory (NBI6) occurred. As part of it a simple report is executed. The final report includes a description of the methodology and a brief explanation of the tables presenting the first simple analyses.
The data and results are not only suitable for the international surveys, they also contain a lot of relevant information for national parties, including the Ministries of Economic Affairs and I & M, the PBL, land management organisations and the timber industry. This project aims to present the results of NBI6 to national organisations, ministries and forest owners.

In the period from September to December 2014 several presentations will be provided, articles in journals, a leaflet will be created and distributed at various meeting for the forestry and wildlife sector and the timber industry. The project website will be updated.
