Description
In 2008, the Foundation for Integrated Fisheries and the Ministry of Economic Affairs launched a pilot project 'Pilot project Integrated Fisheries - group building permits'. In this project, six WaddenSea fishermen were granted an experimental pilot permit which enabled them to exchange licenses and fishing rights. The goal of the project is to enable the flexibility of the management of small coastal fishing businesses. This involves sharing the fishing rights of individual fishermen in a group of fishermen and mutual manageing this fishing rights. It was agreed that the project would be evaluated after five years.
The ministry has asked IMARES to evaluate the pilot project, in which she wants to know whether the objectives of the project are reached. She wants to know what the recommendations for a sequel.
