Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

Recent research data indicate that also unborn animals, and in the last (third) part of the gestation period, pain, and thus can experience discomfort. Partly because of this also creates international interest. It is unknown how many pregnant animals are killed in the Netherlands (for slaughter, or for other reasons), and what is the reason for the killing of these pregnant animals. Also, it is not known whether there is a difference between different methods of killing their mother in distress to the fetus, or how quickly death occurs in the fetus during the mother's killing process.
This study inventories how pregnant animals are killed in the Netherlands, how many (high) pregnant animals are killed in the Netherlands and how is it dealt with the fetus / unborn calf.
