Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

As the WTO Doha Round of multilateral trade negotiations launched in 2001 has stalled, many countries use bilateral trade agreements to enhance international trade. Trade in agricultural products is in many cases an important part of bilateral agreements the EU is part of and can offer huge opportunities (or imply more competition) for the Dutch agribusiness sector. For the Dutch positioning with regard to certain bilateral trade negotiations it is important to have detailed insights into the advantages and disadvantages of the possible agreements for the sector. In 2015 this project reports on the prospects of a possible future trade agreement with Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay)for the Dutch agribusiness.
