    Description

The true colours of a plant hormone

The central plant hormone auxin was discovered about a century ago. Its role in growth and development has long been studied, but the researchers have recently found that within seconds, auxin triggers changes to a large number of proteins in cells. These changes strongly resemble an immune response. In this project, experts in plant hormone biology and plant-microbe interactions will join forces to unravel the unexpected and ancient role of auxin in plant-microbe interactions.
