Project Details
Description
The subject of the PhD project will be on balancing dietary phosphorous content for aquaculture and will take yellowtail kingfish (Seriola lanlandi) as an example. The requirements of phosphorus for growth and good bone formation will be assessed. Oversupply of phosphorous enhances the discharge towards the surroundings. In order to reduce the discharge of phosphorus, the availability of phosphorus in important ingredients for yellowtail kingfish will be assessed, and enzymes will be utilized to increase the availability. The research is envisioned to enable the growth of the aquaculture sector while reducing its impact on the surrounding environment. The PhD study takes 4 (four) years, and time planning for the project would be to start the PhD training in March 1, 2025 and finalize in March 1, 2029
