Data synthesis in crop variety evaluation: spatio-temporal characterization of environmental adaptation

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

My thesis provides novel methodology and tooling for rank-based data synthesis of crop variety evaluations to generate location-specific information for decision making in agronomy and crop science. The methodology is demonstrated by two contrasting use cases, (1) generating common bean variety recommendations from small on-farm experiments in Central America, and (2) uncovering the effect climate on banana germplasm reaction to black sigatoka from a diversity of on-station experiments around the world.
