Cross contaminatie en antibioticaresistentie (BO-20-016-007)

Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

This project studied the cross-contamination of antibiotics at the farm. Nowadays the use of antibiotics at the farm is by using top-dressings, water medication and/or use of premixes. From results obtained by analysis of samples of animal origin like urine and feaces it became clear that animals sometimes contain residues of antibiotics without using antibiotics at that time. Therefor it is of interest to investigate if there is a problem with cross-contamination. Or in other words if animals ( or the environment of the animal) are unintendently exposed to antibiotics.

To monitor the unintended exposure samples of (drinking)water, faeces and environmental dust are taken and analysed for containing residues of antibiotics. the results of the analysis will give an indication about the unintended exposure of animals/environment by antibiotics. About 20 pig and 20 poultry farms will be sampled.

Final results will be a set of data (results of analyses) and a final joint NVWA/RIKILT report.
