Description
This project will provide insight in the potential benefits of innovative climate proof multi-functional flood defences in the rural environment. It will focus on different representative cases, paying attention to different types of landscapes and different regional contexts (coastal, river and delta region).
Research questions are:
- Which are possible concepts for robust multifunctional flood defences and what are possible services and values (qualitative as well as quantitative)?
- What are the (positive and negative) effects of the various functions on the flood-protection?
- How can this information be used to achieve a balanced integral design of robust multifunctional flood defences (involving multiple stake-holders)?
