Project Details

Description

The agricultural sector, industry, distribution partners and government work together in a systems-approach for sustainable crop protection to identify and solve bottlenecks currently hampering an optimal application of integrated pest management. Goal is to contribute and facilitate a more sustainable crop protection.

New cropping systems and precision-application techniques leading to improved sustainability, for example by allowing spot-spraying application, are taken into account. Main question is how current assessment methodologies for the authorisation of plant protection products can take into account these new application methods. The exact impact of application using precision and other mitigating measures influencing dose, emission, exposure and sustainability risks is still largely unexplored. The project aims to recommend steps towards robust authorisation procedures in which new precision-applications are taken into account.
