Awareness and social dialogue on sustainable food production and consumption

Netherlands has a unique position in the agro-food sector. There is a growing social resistance in relation to our food production by the disengagement and the modernisation of food production.

The education, business and research want to put here steps in to raise awareness for sustainable food production and to promote social dialogue by exploring and insight into other food strategies.

The research consists of developing and substantiate with scientific knowledge of a teaching module along with the social dialogue at Colleges concerned, focusing on animal and vegetable food production in such a way that students look wider than the unilateral ' production focus ' and be able to dialogue to go on food production and consumption.

The contents of the module and the background document answers the following question: what do hybrid models by combinations of both paradigms (focus on sustainability in the conventional food system and focus on the alternative food system) look like and how can these models promote sustainable food production and the civil dialogue?
