Add Sectoranalyse emissies door kalveren NAPRO (BO-43-101-060)

Project: LVVN project

Project Details

Description

Due to the urgency to reduce N emissions and deposition, a good picture of the timeline for implementation of low-emission housingsystems is needed. This concerns source-oriented measures and end of pipe techniques in veal calf housing systems and manure storage to reduce ammonia and other emissions. This sector analysis focuses on new built housing systems and manure storage on the one hand and existing stables and manure storage on the other, also distinction between the relevant subcategories will be made. Relevant subcategories are at least white veal calves and rosé veal calves.

The inventory focuses on:

  • Existing source-oriented low-emission systems
  • Existing end of pipe technologies
  • Combinations of existing techniques
  • End of pipe systems in development
  • Source oriented systems in development

For the different techniques the next paramters are determined; potential emission reduction, which companies offer these, what stage of development, costs, applicability in existing stables and reliability of the intended emission reduction.

In a nitrogen letter dated 24 April 2020 to the House of Representatives, it states with regard to animal housing measures: "Based on a sector analysis of the perspectives of existing and new innovative techniques from the Sbv, stricter emission standards for ammonia per animal group can then be set by the end of 2023 at the latest. These requirements will come into effect for all relevant animal groups by 2025 at the latest. For existing stables, a transition period to be determined will become oparative, taking into account the possibilities of farmers."
