Access and equity in higher education

Project: PhD

Project Details

Description

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 has a target by 2030: equal access for all to affordable and quality higher education. However, in Higher Education (HE) the chances are not the same for all students. Especially students from low socioeconomic status and rural areas experience issues with access and equity in HE. Efforts need to be made to improve Access and Equity (A&E) and therefore this study aims to provide insight in A&E in HE, not just at the level of statistics, but in particular, by looking at intended, implemented, attained forms of A&E; including both the access and learning processes taking place. The research aims to benefit the aforementioned stakeholders and specifically the (disadvantaged) students. The results of the study will be used to analyze the gap between current studies and practice (in term of A&E in HE).
