1-1D-1 Governance in transitions (KB-34-004-001)

This research focuses on behaviour, an essential element in the transition process of the agro-food system. The research aims to gain more insight into the behaviour of all actors involved in the transition towards a circular society. With this, incentives can be chosen that are helpful to realise the transition from the current linear production chains towards a circular economy. We take various instruments into consideration: from policy to information to the development of new social norms. We also translate this into new business models. We do this based on what we learn from available theoretical concepts and a number of cases where the transition process to a circular food system is currently being initiated. By understanding behaviour of all actors involved, we can contribute to a just, responsable transition.
