Chen Qian is a doctoral candidate in the Development Economics Group (DEC) at Wageningen University. Chen completed his master at Boston University and his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Denver. Chen's current research project carries out interdisciplinary research on the land-water-food nexus in rural China, in which his research particularly crosses the boundaries between development economics and economic psychology, combining insights from psychology, behavioral economics, and institutional policy and linking them to smallholders' behavior that can contribute to more sustainable agricultural production and rural development.
