We created two NILs, partially resistant to downy mildew (DM) by repeated backcrossing of a resistant donor (PI 197088) to a susceptible recurrent parent (HS279). To further characterize the resistance mechanism of the partially resistant NILs, we isolated total RNA from both NILs and the susceptible parent, three days after inoculation with the pathogen Pseudoperonospora cubensis or a mock control (3 biological replicates per genotype-treatment combination). These samples were used for RNAsequencing.
