Description

This study investigates the tonsillar microbiome of piglets. The study has a case/control study design, comparing piglets with Streptococcus suis clinical signs to asymptomatic controls. Tonsil swab samples were collected from piglets around weaning age at several farms, including both case farms with disease outbreaks and control farms without recorded S. suis disease.
