    Description

This dataset documents the characteristics of 29 institutional repositories from Chilean universities awarded the public InES Open Science fund by the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) in 2021 and 2022, along with ANID’s own repository. It includes information on repository type (data, theses, publications, others), software used, persistent identifiers, availability of documentation for deposit and reuse, metadata schemas implemented (Dublin Core, DataCite, OpenAIRE), use of local and gender-related metadata, and compliance with FAIR principles and interoperability standards. For each repository identified as a data repository, at least five representative datasets were selected and evaluated for their alignment with the FAIR principles. The tools used for this assessment include the F-UJI FAIR Assessment Tool, the OpenAIRE Validator, and manual documentation review. This resource provides an overview of the development, quality, and openness of repositories that make up Chile’s national open science infrastructure.
