Description
The Multilevel input-output (MLIO) database has been constructed for the purpose of urban food system analysis in a global economic framework (EXIOBASEv3.8, YR2016). The MLIO construction process involved three main steps: (1) disaggregation of animal feed sector, animal based processed foods and plant-based processed foods (MRIO with augmented food sector resolution), (2) estimation of single region supply use tables for the City of Almere (Netherlands) and the NUTS2 region Flevoland in which the city is located, (3) the replacement of the national tables of The Netherlands by the multilevel administrative framework consisting of Almere, (rest of) Flevoland, (rest of) Netherlands. The database has been constructed in MRSUT format, converted to an MLIO table. The MLIO database includes the interindustry matrix, final demand, value added and the social & environmental extensions, and can be used for detailed food related footprint calculations (among others). Underlying databases and estimation process, as well as the MRSUT can be requested on demand.
