Description
Lactococcus lactis FM03 was grown in 2 independent stressostat cultivations (a novel adaptive laboratory evolution method) with increasing lactate concentration for 35 days. Evolved L. lactis was isolated from several time points throughout the evolution experiment and was shown to have increased lactate resistance compared to the wild type
