This repository holds publicly available weather data which has been extracted from .tiff and NetCDF to Stata format at points over Kenya. The original source of the rainfall data is:

The original source of the temperature data is:

It also holds the replication files for the paper titled: Insure or Unsure? The Role of Negative and Positive Basis Risk in Weather Index Insurance Uptake in Kenya, authored by S J Vosper and F Cecchi. The remaining data files to run these replication files need to be requested from the authors as this contains proprietary data of the insurance provider. This requires the appropriate permission requests to be made. This can be done by contacting Francesco Cecchi on: [email protected]
