DescriptionIndependent research has shown that the native predatory bug Dicyphus errans is an effective biological control for pests such as Echinothrips, whitefly and golden twin-spot moth in gerbera. Tis omnivorous predator feeds on both plant and animal matter. Many gerbera growers are experimenting with this small bug, which they rear themselves since it is not commercially available.
