Generalist predator Orius does better than expected in ornamentals : In search of a total biocontrol system

Description

A three-year project by Wageningen University & Research is looking into the possibility of developing a robust total biological control system in ornamental production which enables multiple pests to be tackled simultaneously. Test crops are gerbera, chrysanthemum and alstroemeria. The system works well with gerbera and chrysanthemum on a small scale based on the generalist Orius.
