Tool to assess agricultural soil nutrient and carbon budgets and the effect of measures

This presentation belongs to a lecture that was given during the Summer School on 'Strategies for adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change in the agricultural sector', held on 24-26 April 2024 in Vic, Spain for SMART4ENV Project. The summer school lasted for 3 days, with each day having name of NUTRIDAY, FERTIDAY and WATERDAY. Presentation 3 (2 parts) of FERTI-DAY featured Chantal Hendriks from Wageningen University and Berta Singla from BETA TC exploring the benefits and potential of decision support systems in agriculture. The session emphasizes on data-driven approaches to optimizing fertilizer application for improved efficiency and environmental stewardship, along with practical examples of decision support systems designed for farmers.
