Activity: Talk or presentationLecture/seminar/webinarAcademic

Description

The theme of this years Opening Academic Year was Shaping Sustainable Futures. According tot associate professor Jeroen Candel, who teaches courses on Food Politics, shaping sustainable futures inevitably means changing our food production and consumption practices. “If the whole world population would eat like the Dutch, we would need 99.9% of global habitable land for agriculture.” Candel stressed the need for our governments – at local, national and international levels – to finally make work of integrated food policies.
