Exploring the social lives of wildlife

Activity: Talk or presentationKeynote talkAcademic

Description

Across diverse taxa, animals attribute valuable time to hanging out with others. In this talk, I will share my experiences with studying the social lives of two very different species in the wild: the great tit (Parus major) and the guppy (Poecilia reticulata). I will dive into what I have learned so far about the dynamics and consequences of being social and my thoughts on how learning more about the animal social structure may be relevant to wildlife conservation and management.
