Description
The course is focused on the Common Agricultural Policy, the so-called ‘CAP’. In this course, we will embark on a comprehensive legal exploration of the CAP, delving into its major reforms, objectives, mechanisms, market instruments, and rural development policies. Our goal is to provide you with a thorough understanding of what the CAP is and how it has evolved from its inception to the latest reform in 2023. The course comprises 3 modules. The first module provides the key characteristics of the CAP and delves into key features of CAP reforms, including the direct payments scheme, product support, and rural development measures. The second module focuses on the 2023 CAP Strategic Plans Reform, its alignment with the EU Green Deal (EUGD) and the Farm to Fork (F2F) Strategy, and the role it aims to play in the transition towards sustainable agri-food systems. Lastly, the third module examines conditionality mechanisms embedded in the CAP.
